about

This song was written in the wake of the NAACP holding a faux funeral for the usage of the notorious "n word" in July of 2007. The context of the song does not take a stand on whether the word should or should not be used or who should be allowed to use it or no. What it does do is ask the Black American community to rise above the stigma of the word by realizing that Black Americans are first human and internally/spiritually above what negative connotations may be inferred by said usage or by racism in general which to this day is institutionalized socially and politically at the core of American society.

Chorus:

What type of nigga will I, can be? / Great! / I wonder what type of future can I achieve? / Great! / Despite all of the haters / only the God creates us / and he determines the future / and what it gon' be!
Am I a nigga or a young G [god]? / Who determines the price I'm worth and if I'm trophied? / 'Cause no matter if Black or nigga / or holding or lacking figures / I promised to paint the picture of the soul be-ing inward [n-word]

Verse:

I'm a nigga mispronounced / "negro" / every once / Bounce wit' it / Figure out / It's more than [what] comes out your mouth / You can rally or rob me / Call me or card me / However you flip the burger / remember nigga it's all beef / And all streets ain’t all 'bout cocaine / and our songs shouldn't be 'bout / how broads blow brain / It's so lame / how our cars roll lanes / when you still live in the projects / You rims are worth more than you whole frame / I ain’t Black / I'm a Melanite / Check the contradiction / Yo! our ignorance I heller fight / To get from hell to life / Hip-hop's depraved of light / More than a million / I'm trying to get y'all to learn to like --- love! / Like these sistas seem to like thugs / Nightly clubbing / day job selling "nice" drugs / Starblocks coffins / iced out on nice rugs / Sorry for tripping but my mic's bugged

Inward [n-word] is the goal / And pray Yah save our soul / 'Cause I'm bigger than Black or nigga / I'm human made whole

Verse Two:

So now I'm broke in my apart-a-ment / Broken's my heart again / To top it off / my car refuse to start again / Shall I rethink or restate / my position on these traits? / Drug dealing and killing / stealing / selling on wheels "Hate" / to my people / serving to ya un-real rates / For a dime sac or climax / Serve ya death wit' a rebate / The leaves shake 'fore I awake or fall / You can call a whore a lady / 'fore I can worship a real God / on real earth / on real dirt real sod / If you's a crime committing felon / Serve some LIFE behind these bars / And real stars shine in heaven / If you's a boss why the weapons? / Ain’t you strong enough to rep this / by yourself? / What?!? / You need help now? / The game's charged / but your credit cards have been maxed out / I think you'll wanna go and change your style / The times've come for them Better Ones to see cream now

Inward [n-word] is the goal / And pray Yah save our soul / 'Cause I'm bigger than Black or nigga / I'm human made whole

Verse Three:

So, now I wonder / what type of nigga am I? / Am I the type who reverence? / or just some ignorant guy? / Cool as the I. / C. E. and foxy as sly / Don't give up / Competitor whose aspirations' is high / So are you the kind who gets offended by the n-word? / Is there something 'bout the letters? Is it inward? / I say "phuq" the connotations that it infers / I'm embracing original meanings. Has it entered / that / these programmed minds often be bitter? / That's why his pops be drinking whisky and he will hit her / Some crap! / And then they hate it when they call Black / men "black" / in the form Latin / Remembering whips that crack / from Crackers' fingers / Sometimes the past it lingers / Rewind and grasp the picture / It's big, but won't forget you / Unless you let it / I pray these blessed Negroes get it / The path reset it / as we imper-fect love!

Inward [n-word] is the goal / And pray Yah save our soul / 'Cause I'm bigger than Black or nigga / I'm human made whole

Chant:

Never Ignorant Getting Goals Accomplished [Repeat]
